Information Technology, Certificates I & II (ICS10105 & ICA20105)

About these courses:

These introductory courses have been designed especially for those who require, or who have basic and intermediate knowledge of a pc and Microsoft Office products. They provide introductory training in how to use a pc and word processing, spreadsheets, databases, PowerPoint. The objective is to enable learners to acquire the skills and knowledge to undertake basic functions using a personal computer.

These courses provide the foundation skills and knowledge through nationally recognised vocational training for an individual to be able to commence and advance their careers in a number of industries.

What will be learnt:

CSA Training Services offers two certificates in Information Technology.

Certificate I, providing the foundation
Certificate II, more in depth and general learning of computer skills and products

Course outline and structure:

These courses will provide first class training and learner support. CSA Training Services has over 20 years experience in delivering many different kinds of nationally accredited and recognised community training programs designed to meet the needs of learners from a broad range of backgrounds, including culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds (CALD).

Certificate I: 3 core subjects and 3 electives
Certificate II: 8 core subjects and 6 electives

These are Australia’s nationally recognised and accredited qualifications in Information Technology, and designed for those just starting.

Entry requirements:      

There are little or no real prerequisites for Certificate I, however it is mandatory in Certificate II for learners to be able to operate a pc. Additionally both qualifications require a sound understanding of English with a suggested year 10, or equivalent is recommended. Additionally basic mouse and keyboard skills would be beneficial. 

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) – is offered to any learner who can provide evidence of competency for units offered within these certificates. During the enrolment process a potential learner will complete a checklist and discuss any prior experience before commencing to determine their eligibility for RPL.

Training Schedule:

Cert I – approx. 145 hours or 6 weeks
